Description: U.S. 1921 P MORGAN DOLLAR The last year, or should I say , the last 3/4 year of the Morgan dollar. This coin was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. Originally the Morgan dollar was first struck, at various locations, in 1878 then discontinued in 1904 but. The coin was brought back for 3/4 of the year 1921 to be replaced by the Peace dollar in the last 1/4 of the year. These Morgan dollars are interesting as in 1918, with the Pittman Act, the U.S. government authorized the recall and conversion into bullion up to 350,000,000 of these coins. No telling how many Morgan dollars are really in existence, but it has been said that as many as almost half of the Morgan dollars from between 1878 and 1904 were melted. This is quite possibly the most beautiful silver coin minted in the U.S. The coin comes in a protective plastic holder.
