Thanks to the huge work that began in the distant 1484, produced by the Pskov masters Myshkin and Krivtsov. The temple is located on the Cathedral Square and every person who visited the cathedral remains impressed forever, this building makes you remember the history. As you know, Italian architects were engaged in the construction of the Kremlin, and the Pskov craftsmen were given a difficult task, but saturated with the national spirit. It was ordered to build a primordially Russian cathedral surrounded by Italian architecture. Initially, the cathedral was three-domed, but was catastrophically damaged in 1547, during a fire. During the reconstruction in 1564, two chapters were added to the cathedral near the western part. In 1572, a porch was erected, which is now called Grozny. A little later, the son of Ivan the Terrible, Tsar Fedor placed a cross of pure gold on its central head. It was this cross that Napoleon was looking for when he captured the besieged Moscow. The historical value of the cathedral is unusually great. Today in the cathedral you can see the preserved painting of 1508. The main asset of the cathedral is the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which was painted by Theophanes the Greek. The floor of the cathedral is lined with honey-colored jasper, which is quite rare, as well as marble and agate.
