VERY RARE Rembrandt Van Rijn Painting

Description: very rare Rembrandt Van Rijn Painting Rembrandt needs no introduction as his name is still spoken throughout the world as one of the greatest artist of all time.Known as simply; Rembrandt, a Dutch Golden Age painter, printmaker and draughtsman. An innovative and prolific master in three media, he is generally considered one of the greatest visual artists in the history of art and the most important in Dutch art history. The painting offered here is a great find from a storage locker out of the Los Angeles area. Acquired about 12 years ago. The painting shows a variety of cracks in the paint and varnish and an overall darker appearance, while the inscription on the back includes a date of 1667, I cannot guarantee it is so. There is also a signature on the back as well. Since Rembrandt is a well documented artist, this painting suggests a similarity to "Old man with a Gold Chain", found in Chicago and done years earlier. This could be by one of his students or simply a tribute paintings by one of many artists throughout history. This painting was acquired with another similar size painting and came with an old receipt from 1917, from what looks to be an auction house. The original receipt has gone to the buyer of the first painting, I have included a photo here and can provide a scan of the original for the buyer's records. oil on canvas measures 11x16 inches (28x40 cm) stretched on wood fastened with square nails on back some fraying of canvas on the back has an older sealed small puncture First photo with frame is for reference only as an example, no frame is included in this sale.
