Description: The listing is for a fine quality early Victorian silver plate entree main course dish / warmer manufactured by the Elkington Silver Company prior to 1898 when the "crown" was deleted. They consist of 1. footed base with handles, which can hold hot water or cold to keep the food at the proper temperature, 2. a warming tray which fits into the base and used for holding hot or cold water 3, the cover which fits onto the warming tray, 4. finial for the cover and 5. the second tray which fits onto the shallower tray. The cover with fit onto both trays which turns the set into a warming dish and tray and an entree dish. The dish features a stunning high relief design of grapes, leaves and vines to top the magnificent set. Condition: The Elkington & Co. silver plate entree dish / warming dish is in fine condition. The silver plate is shiny and bright, there are no visible repairs and no monograms. Size: The entree dish measures 14 inches long and 9.75 inches wide.
