Description: This vintage boy with his painting on an easel and his paint brushes on his knee was found at an Estate Sale. The original box, if ever one, was nowhere to be found. The family called him " The budding artist" because they did not know if he had a title or where he came from! He just sat in the Curio Cabinet where it had been since their parents traveled to Japan in the 1950's and brought him home. He is old and a rare find!! This little boy has the cutest hand painted face ( see photos). He has a certain distinguished look about him as he looks off into the distance....could it be where the lake with the swan is that he is painting? On the bottom is Made In JAPAN and the CGU marking above it, but no other markings. This little boy is in very good vintage condition, no nicks, chips or repairs. Being so old, the figurine could have crazing and other imperfections. See all photos.. they are part of the description. He is approx. 5.5" tall on a base of 4" long and 2.75" wide. If you collect vintage figurines of days gone by.....never to be found again and getting harder to find in good condition, this would be a good addition to a vintage collection.
