Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. Here's a unique and somewhat obscure Shure mic with excellent sound quality. The Shure model SM-62 dynamic cardioid microphone set at 150 OHMS / Low Z. It has a warm rich tone that you'll really appreciate and it comes with a mic clip that compliments the mic nicely. Serial # on this mic is 7071. Pic # 2 is from a catalog I have showing the SM-62's characteristics and general use. It's frequency response is 100 - 10,000 HZ and was ideal for public speaking, conference use as well as broadcasting. The smaller SM-62 in not a well known model today but was a very high quality build with a rugged construction. This SM-62 is a 1980's model as it is made in the USA. The later SM-62 models were made in Mexico starting around the early to mid 1990's. The SM-62 was manufactured for about 25 years. The SM-62 is very lite weight. Quite smaller than the standard hand held mic. It's only 5 inches long X 1 1/4 wide at the tip. The SM-62 series has a very modern and classy look. It comes with it's stock silver / gold color scheme. Not sure of the actual color but that's the best I can describe it. This dynamic cardioid mic has uni-directional characteristics cancelling out all back ground noise. As you can see in the pictures provided there are extremely lite signs of wear on the original paint in the form of a few scuff marks. The Shure logo that encircles the mic shows no wear and completely legible. No tarnish, odors or deformation on the front grill. The original foam pop filter was replaced with a new one as the original was all but falling apart. The newer one really helps with unwanted feedback from talking or windy conditions. Let the pics be your guide please. Mic is 100% complete and solid. No loose parts. The mic takes your standard XLR cable which is included. The XLR pins were cleaned on this mic as they were very tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached. Mic comes with a nice aftermarket mic clip that fits this mic perfectly and it's in excellent overall condition. The clip provides a wide degree of tilt up and down and will screw onto any desk or floor stand. The plastic gasket will ensure that the mics finish is not scratches. A superb working mic that's an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. The best working and priced SM-62 on Ebay or Reverb.
