This sweet looking THUMPER with MOJO for days, this killer classic Ibanez MC-924 is ready to be your next work horse. With versatility and impeccable tone, this one is just the right combination of art and music. This 1981 Ibanez Musician MC 924 Bass features a 34" scale neck-through design. The neck is 5-piece neck, constructed of three pieces of rock maple, with two strips of walnut in between them. The body is solid ash. Featuring a set of Ibanez Super P5 and Super J5 pickups, based on Precision and Jazz Bass style pickups in Ibanez' own covers, it includes an active equalizer circuit that can be switched in or out between active and passive modes. In passive mode, it delivers solid, warm tones, and when switched to Active mode, a more present, "Hi-Fi" tone is achieved, with separate low, mid, and treble controls. It's worth noting that even in Active mode, the passive master tone is still engaged, allowing for far more tonal exploration than found on most basses. It features volume, pickup blend and tone controls, ALL featuring the original Ibanez sure-grip knobs. There are a few battle scars, enough to let you rock out worry free, but still clean enough to show off on stage. It has plenty of dings, scratches and a few chips of the finish along the back bottom edge. (see pics) Evidence of how fun it is to play and how hard she is to put down. The Neck Through and Active Electronics make this one sweet bass guitar and it plays fantastic! The Ebony fret board and dot abalone fret inlays adds to the already illustrious look. It has low action with no buzzing or dead spots and is an absolute joy to play. It has been deep cleaned and detailed. All guitars will arrive looking and playing great. The frets have been leveled / dressed / polished and the fingerboard was cleaned. (Unfinished Rosewood and Ebony boards get treated with Fret Doctor - a proprietary all natural oil that is the best on the market) It has brand new strings, the action was adjusted, the intonation is spot on and it plays excellent.
