Description: Vintage 1980s Fender Stratocaster (Left-Handed) LEFTY Electric rare find. I'm sharing the history as I know it: I bought this Strat in 2002 from the original owner, who mentioned he got it from a mom-and-pop shop around the Chicagoland area Elgin if memory serves. The guitar has "MADE IN USA" on the headstock, the serial number (E801232) suggests it was made in Japan between 1984-1987. The 1980s were a VERY complicated time for Fender, with some overlap in production, so it’s possible this guitar has ties to both American (neck, tuners) and Japanese (solid body, electronics?) it really is a crapshoot with this period of manufacturing. It has also undergone aftermarket professional upkeep work and luthier cleanings over the years. What I do know of now’s your change to take it into its next 2 decades first owner owned for about 20 now I myself the same, it’s your turn lefty friend!!! This vintage 1980’s Stratocaster is a rare find for ANY left-handed players—I've owned it for over 20 years. It features a solid wood body in a classic vintage cream finish, 21 frets, and a maple neck and fretboard. The original pickups were replaced with 3 separate EMGs, providing a clean, powerful sound, especially when paired with a Fender Deluxe 12” amp (mine had re-biased tubes and a 12” Blue Dog driver) Phenomenal SOUND! Included with the purchase and for MUCH safer transit is a G&G aftermarket tweed Stratocaster hard case with matching fender tweed guitar strap, (probably some extra electric strings too) both of which have seen over 10 years of live performances and travel and are still in excellent shape for their vintage. The guitar has naturally relic'ed (none of the custom shop needed, this is the real deal) through years AND YEARS of playing, and recording giving it an authentic, well-worn TRUE look. The fretboard has been cleaned up, though it still retains its vintage character, complete with possible cigarette burns from the previous owner's club days. The neck remains smooth and playable, and the guitar was last serviced at Woodsong in Boulder, CO, around 15 years ago, before I stopped touring full-time. It’s part of the American Standard series and has been well-maintained, though a setup after shipping is always recommended.
