Handle cord wrapping over what we believe to be shark skin. Blade is sharp The Tsuba (guard) near handle slightly loose but intact. Mekugi (secure peg) is sound. Handle wrapping good. Blade shows normal wear. Scabbard is wood, and does have a small crack near opening about 4 inches long, a very small crack on end. (See photo) Wood has both Red and Gold colors to it. Normal wear on both sword and scabbard. Age of the item unknown, but has to be many decades old. A great display piece!
