Description: This is a vintage Amish patchwork quilt in cotton. Patchwork design is a nine-patch variation. In deep, rich colors of hunter green, navy blue, graphite, plum, dusty lilac, deep rose, teal, marine blue, berry red, and stone. Fabric pieces are machine joined, with lovely hand quilting embellishments -- floral designs and X's. Reverse side is a charcoal cotton fabric. There is a length of velcro along the top edge of the back side -- hand stitched. This was added to accommodate hanging on the wall without any hardware showing (The female side of the velcro would be tacked to the wall). The velcro could be easily removed if so desired. Measures approximately 46 1/2" by 48 1/2". Purchased by my parents in Pennsylvania in the early 1960's. Condition: Good used condition. Comes from a smoke-free environment. No holes, tears, or incomplete stitching. A few very minor surface spots. Some of the hand stitching on the velcro piece needs to be reinforced (about 14"). Could use a cleaning.
