Vintage Asian Embroidered Silk Dress Set, M, L, Reversible Satin Swing Coat NICE

Description: Add some excitement to your wardrobe with this gorgeous one-of-a-kind vintage outfit made from luxurious thick silk and embroidered with beautiful lotus flowers, rickshaws and Chinese symbols. This spectacular vintage set was custom designed and beautifully hand tailored in Hong Kong in the 1950s, so there are no labels. Please double check the measurements carefully to ensure a proper fit. The beautiful fitted sleeveless dress features a cute bow on the front - stunning on its own but sensational with the matching coat. You will feel like a movie star donned in the elegant and dramatic reversible sweep coat - this is such a gorgeous garment pictures simply do not do it justice. This enchanting coat measures 45 inches from rear collar to hem, 22 inches across the underarm seams laid flat with a full sweep, and 16 inches from the underarm seam to hem of un-cuffed sleeve. This ravishing marvel is reversible and the collar and cuffs carry the alternating color so you can choose if you want to include that color in the outfit. There are two large silk knot buttons at the top of each side of the coat, each matching the side of the coat you select. These can also be pulled through the buttonholes to add to the contrast if you choose to show both colors of the coat - a beautifully innovative design. I have included several photographs of the different options with this glamorous coat. Aside from minor yellowing which will easily wash out, the only imperfection I could find on the coat is that the buttons are a little loose - I would recommend having them secured prior to cleaning - but overall the coat is in pristine condition and is simply exquisite. The striking dress measures 42 inches from top of shoulder to hem, 18 inches across the underarm seams laid flat, 14 inches across the waistline laid flat, 18 inches with lots of room across the hip line laid flat, 33 inches from the underarm seam to hem and features a scoop neckline, darts for a well fitted bodice and slightly pleated flared skirt - extremely figure flattering. The waistline is accented with piping and a small matching bow and there is an older left side zipper with hook and eye. Beautifully tailored, the dress is generally in good vintage condition - the only real flaw is perspiration stains under each arm and there is some tearing damage in the silk under one arm by the top of the zipper (please see additional pictures). Although the zipper does work, it is over 70 years old so you may wish to have it replaced - otherwise the remainder of the dress is in great shape. This fabulous set has been stored well and is extremely well tailored with the finest silk and shiny satin finish - this set is in astonishingly good condition considering it is over 70 years old, but will certainly benefit from a cleaning which I will leave for you as this amazing set is being sold "as is".
