VINTAGE BORTOLAMIO OBICI IN VERONA 1681 ITALIAN VIOLIN RARE

You are viewing a VINTAGE BORTOLAMIO OBICI IN VERONA 1681 RARE VIOLIN . I believe it is ITALIAN, LABEL INSIDE READS BORTOLAMIO OBICI IN VERONA 1681, has a very nice 2 piece Tiger Stripe Maple back, spruce top, maple back and sides. I am unsure of the exact age, The violin appears to be in good condition for its age, please see pics to form your own opinion, here is what I know about the Violin; 1. being and old violin it has some dings and nicks and shows some age cosmetically, it doesn't look to me to have any cracks forming on the back or sides, on the front of the lower bout you can see some stress marks running up the violin some and also the middle seam were the 2 piece front comes together but it seems to be held together tightly, its hard to tell the condition of these stress cracks, and I can not make any promises on their condition, its an old violin and they may be only in the finish. If hair line cracks are an issue this violin may not be for you.( please see all pics for details ) 2. has what looks to me to be 4 ebony pegs ( see pics ) 3. It has a bridge, the bridge looks like it works well. 4. It has 4 fine tuners 5. The tail piece and the tail piece hanger looks to be in good condition. 6. The violin looks to be in good condition, the strings look to be good however being an older set they may soon need to be replaced. I do not have the experience to say how it plays, so it may need set up to the players own specifications with their own strings and string action height. 7. It does not come with a bow 8. The case is Free -- an Antique Bulls Head case, all latches work and the handle has been replaced with a leather strap at some time in the past, works well and will protect the instrument !! 9.
