Often called a "foo dog" or "fu dog," the lions were traditionally used as Chinese architectural ornaments and as feng shui protection symbols. The male fu dog is said to represent strength, ferocity and outward spirit. The statue measures just under 5" and is finely detailed and made of heavy, goldish-yellow brass. The little guy is is very good estate condition (just some tiny spots of patina) and would love to offer strength and protection to the right home!
