Description: Vintage Chinese Tang Dynasty Hand Painted Ceramic War Horses: Sancai Drip Glaze These gorgeous, vintage Tang Dynasty ceramic war horse figurines were made in China and feature incredible details and a delicate three-color Sancai drip glaze over the terracotta figurines. Together the two horses weigh 10.4 ounces. The horse with its head up is 4 5/8” tall, is 5 1/8” long from head to tail, and its body width is 1 ¾”. The base is 3 ½” long by 1 ¾” wide. The horse who is licking his foot is 4 ½” high, 4 ¼” long from neck to tail, and its body width is 2”. Its base is 2 ½” long by 2” wide. This horse has a very small, hard-to-see chip on his tail. Because of the color, it’s very difficult to see this imperfection. These 2 figurines are in beautiful vintage condition (with that slight previously mentioned imperfection) and are extremely expressive in their details and persona. The bottoms are both stamped and signed.
