Description: Unique in its day as it is today. This decorative whiskey bottle was meant to be noticed, from its ribbed base, ringed neck, wide mouth, through to its hollow top. A bottle of this whiskey on the self would have been something its owner would want you to recognize. Embossed on the bottom “Federal law forbids sale or re-use of this bottle”. This dates the bottle from between 1934-1964 when it was required by federal law. Bottle is also embossed with “Est 1870” possibly making it a Brown-Forman distillery branded item (Old Forester?). There is additional numbering on the bottom which could give more insight into its actual maker and brand. Makes for an interesting decanter or bar decor. Approximately 10 inches tall, 4 ½ inches in diameter. With the exception of a crack in the cork, bottle is in excellent condition.
