Description: How about this statement purse? This lovely Dorset Rex Fifth Ave midcentury modern purse has – unusually – a bamboo handle. She’s a beauty for sure and this style doesn’t come up too often. The metal is gold colored AND silver colored, to add interest and depth. The lid of the basketweave purse is wooden. I didn’t attempt to clean the metal or touch up the wooden top. There’s a small chip in the underside of the lid. See photo. The purse is lined with a red fabric and has built in holders for a lipstick and small items. There is some wear on the edge of the lining. See photo. There are small ‘feet’ formed into the metal on the underside of the purse. There’s also a metal flap closure. The purse measures 9” wide, 8” high to top of handle (body of the purse is 3 1/4” tall) and 4” deep. The handle drop is 4 ½”.
