VINTAGE G. VALETTE Bb SOPRANO CLARINET - RARE 4 PIECE, METAL ALBERT SYSTEM

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage "G. Valette" (Paris) clarinet. This is a rare metal Albert system clarinet. Metal clarinets aren't rare, and nor are Albert system clarinets, but the combination of the two is exceedingly rare. This one is a four piece model, and has rollers on the pinkie keys. The serial number is 748. I don't see any key or pitch markings, but it 23 & 1/16th inches in length, so I am pretty certain it is in the key of Bb and is low pitch. Also, in regard to length, the barrel appears to be adjustable, although it is currently not turning.This clarinet is being sold as is for restoration. It is not currently in playing condition and will require a full overhaul to be made playable. It is, however, in very good physical condition. The body is straight. There are no dents or dings, or even pings or nicks for that matter. The rim of the bell is flattened slightly, which seems to be a ubiquitous malady of metal clarinets. A repair tech skilled at dent removal should be able to easily repair this with little to no evidence left behind. Also, the tenon of the bell is slightly out of round, again an easy repair though. The keys are all moving freely. Only one is not rebounding properly, because of a broken spring. Two of the rollers are turning freely, and the other two are turning with some effort. The silver plate finish is essentially fully intact, albeit tarnished. The pads and corks are definitely shot though. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included, and it does not come with a case. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!
