Description: Vintage Garden City Pottery Chop Plate Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Garden City pottery chop plate, serving platter, or charger. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This large piece of California pottery is approximately 14 5/16 inches in diameter and it stands about 1 1/4 inches tall. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 12.5 ounces. It has a pattern of concentric rings, and it is covered with Garden City's gloss aqua glaze. This piece would make a fabulous addition to a California pottery collection. Identification The platter is unmarked, but it is guaranteed to be vintage Garden City pottery of San Jose, California. Condition This piece looks good overall, with minor wear and no cracks. There are a few tiny glaze fleabites to the top side of the plate (visible in Photos 1 and 2). To the center of the top side of the plate, there is fine, darkened crazing (please see Photos 1 and 2). There are scattered scratches from use, but this is still shiny overall. As made, there are scattered, tiny glaze dimples, mostly to the underside (see Photo 3). Tripod stilt marks beneath are as made.
