Description: Authentic sterling silver (tested) Greek Orthodox Mother of God with child Jesus pendant. This vintage pendant, with out the articulated bail, measures a hefty three inch by three inch. The slightly off set center panel is circular in shape and solid. This panel features the raised profile of the Mother of God with Child Jesus. These figures have a warm, and slightly worn, gilt finish which adds a nice aged and loved look. Located to each side of the figures is raised lettering/writing which I am unsure of the meaning. Stamped to the left of The Mother of God, in much smaller font, is the figure "1000". Framing the center is an open interwoven pattern of classic oval to circular shape wires. These oval and circular shapes are bordered by open or cut out coiled wires. Surrounding the wires is a twisted rope style wire edge. Four equidistant wire loops are found around the center. This religious pendant shows age appropriate wear but overall nice estate condition. There is some light/subtle manufacturing damage at roughly 2:00 on the edge of the center medallion (see last two photos). This religious pendant weighs a super solid 22.6 grams. This vintage and hard to find Greek Orthodox pendant would make a wonderful and significant gift or self purchase. A treasured keepsake soon to become a family favorite. Guaranteed authentic.
