It did function before storage. Every time I pick up this lens it reminds me of that line Doc Brown says in Back to the Future III, “This'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!” It really doesn’t mess around. Still clear as daylight, and can take great close ups from over a football field away!
