Description: YU by Pinaud is a very compelling fragrance. YU hasn't been manufactured since the late sixties. In its day YU got lost in the market. I don't think it was due to being a bad fragrance, but YU came out at a time where Hai Karate-mania was in full swing, and every fragrance manufacturer at the time came out with an "Asian" themed scent to cash in on the popularity. Some believe YU to be superior to Hai Karate, Jade East, and all of the other "Oriental" flavors of the day. YU comes in a glass bottle with a brass cap that is styled like an Asian spice bowl. The lettering on the bottle is faux-Japanese on a green on gold label, perfectly complimenting the lime green liquid. The whole package perfectly evokes images of far off intrigue on the Orient Express. My uncle was quite the player back in the day and he liked to smell good. He's asked us to help him clean out his house now that he's in an assisted living facility. It's like walking back in time. We have many of his items up for bid to help pay for his medical expenses. I believe this cologne lasted the test of time due to the foil lined cap pictured. I'm assuming my uncle used it once and moved on to another cologne. I will be posting his other vintage colognes as I get time.
