Description: This is an historically important Tudor reference from around the 1950s, known to be used on the British North Greenland Expedition (BNGE) of 1952-54. So historically important was the reference 7809, that in 2015 Tudor released a new line of watches at Baselworld under the moniker North Flag. The "North Flag" name having been derived from the "North Ice" base camp of the original expedition. This watch has a beautiful patina to the dial and also looking very new for its age. A beautiful example of a vintage Tudor with incredible history. This watch has a 390 movement which has a beautiful copper plating. The watch has been serviced by me (professional watchmaker) and is running well for a vintage piece. The case was professionally refinished as well. everything of the watch besides the plexi crystal is original, even the crown. The hands have been relumed since the original radium lume was falling out with a safe nontoxic lume. The watch comes on a dark brown Horween Shell Cordovan Leather strap. the Case measures 37.1mm with crown and 34mm without crown. Please message me if you have any questions.
