Description: This 71/2" female doll's folk costume is from the town of Norra Ny the province of Varmland. This sort of costume is from the 18th to 19th centuries. These dolls are made with a wire frame, around which a foam material is wrapped for stuffing. The many details, as a walking stick, violins and bows, wooden shoes and the sewn cloth parts are all hand made. The white cap that she is wearing indicates that she is a married woman. This artist was very popular internationally from the 1950's to about the 1990's, but the dolls are still being sought after by numerous collectors.
