Description: This Vintage US Army USGI M1916 Style Leather M1911 Pistol Holster is in very good, clean condition overall and only shows mild signs of age, handling and storage. The only marking that can be found on this holster is a large strap on the cover flap depicting a shield with the letters "VA" in the center. The "Shield" symbol is often associated with Police service and "VA" could indicate service in Virginia. All hardware is clean and functions as you would expect however the brass "M1910" style belt hanger hook is slightly misshapen. The hook appears to still be functional as it is and it has been left exactly as found. The cover flap uses a button-style snap fastener, unlike the US Army M1916 which employed a brass stud. The brown leather is very clean and shows no evidence of poor storage or abuse. This holster fits standard, "Government Model" 1911s and 1911A1s only.
