It is from the 1950s. It was carried in a fly fishing vest for more than 40 years and used to determine water temperature up to 220 degrees. The metal case has an opening on the bottom to keep moisture from accumulating. The overall case itself is about 6 1/4 inches in length and sized for the fisherman's vest. This one has been used.
