Description: This vintage Fenton milk glass melon pitcher is a beautiful, unique and rare find to add to or start a collection of Fenton, Art Glass or Milk Glass. It was made during the 1960's in West Virginia. The pitcher has no backstamp indicating it once had a paper label and dating it to pre-1970. Fenton made milk glass pieces during the 1960's Colonial Revival period. With a height of 8.75 inches, it features a rose crest clear pink edge trim, ruffled and crimped edge, handle, and spout. The mouth is 4 1/2" from edge to spout and 4 3/4" wide. There is a rounded collar around the neck. The body is a melon shape with rounded ridges that is 5 3/4" in diameter. The pitcher sits on a round base that measures 3 1/4" in diameter. It is a handmade and mold blown with the applied rose crest trim. The pitcher should be hand washed only. This Fenton milk glass rose crest melon pitcher is a classic piece of art glass that is both functional and decorative. The base has a curved partial crack benath the top glass glaze (see last photo). It doesn't affect the stability of the base. Otherwise, the pitcher is in excellent undamaged condition.
