Description: I am quite excited to have available for some very fortunate person this absolutely charming VINTAGE village life storyteller, link bracelet in sterling silver. The bracelet is 7 inches long and it weighs 35.5 grams. It is signed TJ which was confirmed as being Tommy Jackson at Indian Native American Jewelry Artists & Southwest Shops Hallmarks, T to ZAmerindian online. His more recent signature is Jackson in a Christian fish or in a circle. For those who care about such things, the quality of storyteller bracelets is determined by their craftsmanship alone, although their weight is important. At first glance they look about the same, but they most definitely are not. For this kind of money, I suggest being careful and buying a good loop or magnifying glass to study them. The craftsmanship behind this bracelet is remarkable and indicates it has to be one of Jackson’s very early pieces due to major differences between it andhis later storytellers which appear to be done more hastily. The linked village life pictures in his earlier work are very detailed and well sculpted, clearly by hand. Note the detailed patterns on all the baskets and the water jug, the woman’s clothing and hair style, the detail on the cactus, and do not miss that tee pee and the animal's head. It is that detail and artisanship which declare the high level of craftsmanship of this piece as well as the age: pre 1980. The newer ones do not have this carefully drawn detail, tend to have a lot of machine-cut slashes, smooth surfaces, and blurring of the details of the figures, and some have complete obfuscation. The closeup pictures are arranged to show each of the four frames from left to right as well as the smaller links between them, ending with the clasp which has a picture also. If some of the pictures are not clear enough, let me know and I will try to take better ones if possible. This camera of mine thinks I'm a pro at using it when in truth I'm the opposite and pray for luck every time I use it.The artist: Tommy Jackson was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 20, 1958, and at that time his family lived in Chinle, Arizona.
