Description: Waitsfield, VT Cabinet Card handsome man w thoughtful expression by H.B. Cady, photographer I wish I could read this fellow's thoughts. He seems a bit wistful, contemplating something in the distance while having his photo made. His very dark hair really draws the eye upward, and emphasizes his eyes. He wears a medium-dark suit with white shirt and tie. Fading to image. Some wear at edges. Light surface scratching. Slight yellowing in a pattern indicating that the image was once in a frame or album. Card measures 6.5 x 4.25 inches, and the photo is approximately 5.5 x 3.875 inches. H.B. Cady worked in both Burlington and Waitsfield. Mrs. Cady was also a photographer. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
