Description: Offering this beautiful pastel on cardboard Impressionist landscape. There is a sketch-like quality to the way the tree trunks that suggests this may have been a study. The painting measures 14 1/2" x 11 1/4" by sight and 17" x 14" framed. It is in its original frame, but the backing paper has been replaced. You can see remnants of the original dark green backing paper, and the previous owner kept the label for McClees Gallery of Philadelphia. While there is no signature that I can find, McClees famously hosted several Walter Emerson Baum exhibitions during the time that this was framed (based on the gallery location on the label, which has long since changed). The style similarities are obvious when looking at Baum's other pastels, and the size of the board used is also the same as many of his other pastel landscapes. There is minor display wear to the frame as shown and it needs new backing paper, but it is otherwise ready to hang.
