Description: Waltham Model 1872 Riverside grade, 16 size, 15 jewel, lever set, open face pocket watch, serial number 3189614 dates production between 1887 & 1891. The nickel open face case is a true model 1872 case. It does show some wear with minor scratches and a couple small dents on the back. there is a small cut on the edge of the case back (see photo). The threads are a bit stubborn but will screw tight. There is a small gap when the bezel is screwed tight but it seems to hold (see photo). The bow fit is nice and snug. The single sunk dial is nice and clean with only the faintest hairline from the center to the top of the seconds bit. The blued steel spade hands are really nice. The nickel plated movement is clean with beautiful damascening and polished steel screws. There is spotting on one winding wheel. The movement winds and sets properly with the set lever. The watch runs very well and keeps good time.
