What Time's the Next Swan? SIGNED by Walter Slezak, actor, Clock King on Batman

Description: "What Time's the Next Swan? : As Told to Smith-Corona Model 88E" by Walter Slezak. 1962 Doubleday. Not first printing (does not state "first edition"), but appears to be from late 1962 (gutter code D41, corresponding to October, 1962). 239 pages with a black and white photo section. Hardcover with dust jacket. The author has signed and inscribed the book on the front flyleaf using a blue ink pen. The inscription, as best as I can read it, is: "To Lillian Gasparini -- most cordially -- Walter Slezak". Slezak was a popular actor from Austria. Born in 1902, he appeared in many German films before immigrating to the United States in 1930. Major film Slezak acted in include Lifeboat, Come September, The Inspector General, Once Upon a Honeymoon, Sinbad the Sailor, and Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion. Slezak also appeared in radio broadcasts and won a Tony Award in 1955 as Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Fanny. He was in operas and appeared in many television shows. One of his memorable roles was as the Clock King on the 1960s television series Batman. Slezak died in 1983 from a self-inflicted gunshot. Photos are of the actual book on offer.
