White Star Line, RMS "Olympic" 1st Class original c-1911 rubberoid tile, as originally installed on the ship when new in 1911. I was lucky enough to find six of these tiles fragments that were still attached to the original pine decking whilst the building was being demolished, they were very much in a fragmentary state, but I wanted to save them. So I have them mounted upon 10" x 10" panels fashions from the original plywood ceiling from the ships 1st Class Smoking Room. The panels have been left in an un restored state, they show the final layer of paint used in Haltwhistle when used as the ceiling in the canteen, the also show traces of the original slight cream coloured finish that was applied when the ship was built as new, also the sport pencil marks from the original installation to the ship when built by Harland & Wolff. For posterity I had a fine brass plaque made for each to mark the provenance. In condition as shown, but it's still a piece of the Olympic herself.Discussed in detail within my blog.Dimensions:- 10" x 10". Each article will come along with a certificate of authenticity.
