Description: Legendary aviation pioneer and co-inventor and builder of the first successful aircraft, WILBUR WRIGHT, handwritten postcard from Berlin, Germany signed "Uncle Will" on the pictorial side and "Wright" in-text on the address panel. Wilbur Wright is particularly scarce in autograph content, having died of Typhoid at the relatively young age of just 45. Likely sent during the years 1907-1909, when Wilbur was in Europe doing flying demonstrations Wilbur writes to his nephew addressing the back mailing panel to "Mr. Horace Wright / W. 2nd near Broadway / Dayton, Ohio / United States of A." On the reverse side, at bottom Wilbur teasingly pens, "Can you Swim? Uncle Will". The postcard depicts Schlossbrücke (Palace Bridge), a short but beautiful crossing of the Spree Canal in Berlin leading to the palace on the opposite side. The Wright brothers traveled to Europe for the first time in 1907 to meet with aviation representatives in both Germany and Britain.
