Description: Styron, William - Lie Down in Darkness - Bobbs-Merrill: Indianapolis, 1951 - First Edition / First Printing - “First Edition” stated on the copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition. The book has some light sunning to the edges and general shelf wear but the boards are straight, the gilt on the cover and spine is bright, the binding is square and slightly loose but not broken, and internally the text block is clean. The dust jacket has some edge wear with shallow chips to the spine end and corners. It is worth noting that the spine is not very sunned at all as a great many of these copies have had their spines darkened over the years. Overall a bright and presentable example of Styron’s first novel. There have been plans for film adaptations of this novel circulating Hollywood for many years but there is no firm evidence of when it will actually happen. At one point in recent memory Kristen Stewart was signed on to the film before plans stalled All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted. Shipping costs can be combined if multiple purchases are made. Items will be packaged and shipped within one business day unless otherwise noted. Please always feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
