They can grow very tall, up to 20ft in perfect conditions. We condition these in unheated hoop houses during the winter. They routinely see temperatures down to 10 degrees F, over 30 times a winter. They can withstand the cold, as long they are protected from the wind. When they reach the 3 gallon size, they may be transplanted outside. We cover all planted specimens with frost cloth during winter, from Dec-March, here in Ohio. Zone 6a/b ***These are shipped in the 3 gallon containers you see, no bare root!
