Description: This antique Halloween postcard features a charming girl in a Pierrot costume with a cart and pumpkin. The pumpkin has "A Merry Halloween" written on the front. The girl's yellow costume is contrasted with a dark blue background. The back of the postcard features a trademark stamp from the publisher, Wolf Company, with 1901 on the side. It's believed to have been produced ca. 1910. The postcard is unposted. It measures 5.5 x 3.5 inches. There are some smudges and signs of handling to the corners but it's in very good condition overall. The postcard is unsigned, but other listings attribute the design to Ellen Clapsaddle (1865-1934). She produced illustrations for the Wolf Company and her designs often feature children in holiday costumes. During her lifetime, Ellen distinguished herself as a prominent illustrator of greeting cards and postcards.
