They were all American Fighter Aces, (who shot down 5 or more enemy planes in aerial combat.) Scott got this signed in person at one of our symposiums. see below: Autographed by: 1. Col. Charles (Sully) Sullivan (later changed his name to O'Sullivan), 5 Victories . On Sept. 20, 1943 he was shot down south of Wewak, New Guinea while escorting bombers. He told us this story himself. He was captured by local head-hunter natives but escaped and evaded enemy capture in the jungles with just a pistol and a knife. He finally rejoined his squadron by stumbling upon a patrol of Australian Special Forces in the jungles, who thought he was a native.(because we was barefoot and dirty from being in the jungle for 30 days).
