The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Alois Berghammer Alois was a party member and served as a corporal in the Anti-Aircraft artillery. He was severely wounded in an air raid at 9AM March 14, 1945 and passed in a rear hospital in later that day at the age of 27. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
