Description: Original large WW2 Japanese army shell with all attachments present and water bottle sold as a setGood quality reproduction chinstraps with slightly aged correct gauge steel rings no thin hobby craft shiny rings or the ugly thin Fanny fabric stores' canvas strip (arrow patterned fabric) used here. One steel ring is left like original gauge steel quality no rust. Made in China reproduction leather liner from very old stock, not easy to come by these days. No shiny modern leather used here. This is a made in China liner , very thick cowhide leather produced with machine cut die very difficult to alter or upgrade. You need a very strong powerful shoe manufacturer machine to alter the liner. This is a Republic of China forces helmet manufactured in Japan under Chiang Kai Shek's contract with Japan at the time. Not sure if this is used during WWII or post war. Either case it is a very rare opportunity to own this helmet and water bottle. The original large shell is very good condition shell I have on hand, it has been painted with a shiny clear coating by the Chinese and original to the helmet. The water bottle is also Japanese product. Both helmet and water bottle has the coveted genuine metal KMT insignia which is original to the items. This is an honest realistic listing, not some reproduction items recreated fakes other than the good quality reproduction liners (my best very thick cowhide leather) and full chinstraps (good quality reproduction). Chinese forces German M35 helmets are much sought after by helmet colelctors and even a rusty shell if found in Japan from Japanese soldiers captured in Nanjing would cost you a fortune ! This is not German M35 helmet but next in line rare items from Chiang Kai Shek's forces. With the rise of China, these items would become very expensive later on as collectors find these items increasingly difficult to obtain from Taiwan or Japan or mainland China. KMT collectors please take note. This is a very rare collection. Don't ask me if you can separate the water bottle from the helmet. They came in as a set and I am reluctant to break the set because I believe they belong together to the same soldier. Whether the soldier was a WWII Chinese soldier or post war, I am not sure. Hey to me, these Japanese helmets were used by both the nationalists and communists immediately after WWII. The Chinese have their own GK80 steel helmets around late 1970s so in either case, post war or during WWII they are extremely rare helmets.
